DASSAULT FALCON 2000DX
- Passengers 10
Combining the design triumphs of the original 2000 alongside improved avionics and engines, the Dassault Falcon 2000DX is an ideal choice for those who want to travel transcontinental distances in luxury.
About this aircraft
- Delivered in 2007, the Falcon 2000DX is an upgrade of the 2000 model, offering a greater range with new avionics and engines.
- The Falcon 2000DX can fly non-stop for approximately 4,603 miles, making it ideal for routes like London to Istanbul and New York to Los Angeles or Mexico City.
- Very few are equipped to fly 19 passengers. Most are configured to fly between eight and 12 people, especially for charter purposes.
- The baggage hold has room for at least 12 suitcases, meaning each passenger can take at least one item of luggage. There’s also ample storage for hand luggage on board.
- Production ceased in 2011 as Dassault focused on upgrades.
While released by Dassault as a super-midsize jet, the 2000DX is more aligned with aircraft in the heavy jet class in terms of performance and charter price. The Falcon 2000DX consolidated the popular features of the 2000 and 2000EX EASy into one aircraft. Future models like the 2000LX, 2000S and 2000LXS feature yet more modern touches while staying true to the original’s combination of comfort, luxury and performance.
Interior design
Like the original 2000, the Dassault Falcon 2000DX has a spacious interior that’s easy to move around during a flight. Falcons are renowned for their quiet cabins and the 2000DX is no exception, with an in-cruise volume of just 52 decibels – equivalent to a conversation at home or a running refrigerator.
Interiors are typically arranged into two distinct cabin zones seating eight to 12 passengers. The front usually features four large seats separated by a fold-away table and the aisle, while at the back there’s a three-seat divan and a four-seat dining area that converts into a double bed for night flights. At the rear of the aircraft is a spacious enclosed lavatory and a sizable galley.

Interesting facts to learn before you fly
- The Falcon 2000DX wasn’t certified to fly into steep-approach airports like London City, but later models like the 2000S and 2000LXS can access the central London airport.
- The aircraft’s quiet cabin is a notable advantage over other private jets in the market.
- Alternative aircraft in this category include the Bombardier Challenger 300 and 350, Gulfstream G280 and Cessna Citation X and X+.
Technological features
The Falcon 2000DX is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW308C turbofan engines, each offering 7000 lbs of thrust. Although these are the same engines found on the Falcon 2000EX and EX EASy, the DX doesn’t have quite the same range as these variants.
Inside, the 2000DX features the same Honeywell Primus Epic EASy integrated modular avionics suite and cockpit display system as the 2000EX EASy, allowing the pilot to greatly increase awareness of the jet’s trajectory for increased precision and safety.
History
Entering service in 1995, the Falcon 2000 was Dassault’s very first private jet to be designed using entirely digital technology for improved aerodynamics and simplified systems. The longer-range 2000EX came next, quickly followed by the 2000EX EASy with upgraded avionics.
Launched in 2007, the 2000DX features the same engines and much of the same interior technology as the 2000EX EASy. Production ceased in 2011 as Dassault’s attention turned to the 2000LX and 2000S upgrades.
Manufacturer
Dassault Aviation’s history dates back to the dawn of aviation. Marcel Bloch (later known as Marcel Dassault) founded the company following a childhood fascination with aesthetics and innovation and it went on to become one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.
Following the oil shock of 1973-74 and the Iranian crisis in 1979, the global economy felt the impact of rising raw material prices. Dassault bolstered its fundamentals by developing exports of civil and military aircraft against a backdrop of increasingly fierce international competition. Today, the brand holds a special place in the industry as the only global aerospace company still owned by its founding family.
Cost
The average price of a pre-owned Dassault Falcon 2000DX is around $9.54 million (USD).
