Mallorca

Mallorca (or Majorca) is one of Europe’s most popular destinations thanks to its hot summers and spectacular coastline, with millions of sun-seekers flocking to the island’s golden beaches each year. As well as several party resorts, there are plenty of upmarket hotels and quieter spots for those seeking a peaceful break.

The capital, Palma, exemplifies the island’s two faces. On the one hand, it’s a buzzing resort with plenty of lively nightspots; while on the other it’s a typical Mediterranean city full of charming architecture, seafood restaurants and luxury hotels.

Closest airport

The island’s main airport, Palma de Mallorca, is located 12 miles from the heart of the capital. Its private jet terminal offers a 24/7 handling service with three VIP passenger lounges, a crew lounge, a conference room and a private rest room.

Popular aircraft: Cessna Citation XLS

The predecessor of the similarly popular XLS+, the Cessna Citation XLS has a spacious cabin large enough for eight passengers and a hold with storage for up to eight suitcases. Its fully-reclining, padded leather seats are up to four inches wider than competitors’ and feature individual seat monitors and moving maps so passengers can track flight progress.

Nice

With its designer shops, gourmet dining and luxury hotels, Nice has long been one of Europe’s glitziest destinations. Nestled on the sun-soaked French Riviera, the city is a short hop from Monaco – ideal for a quick visit, especially if your stay coincides with the principality’s Formula One Grand Prix.

Our private jet charter customers’ favourite upmarket hotels in Nice include the opulent Hotel Negresco, home to a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée, a more contemporary option located near the old town.

Closest airport

Just four miles outside the city centre, Nice Cote d’Azur Airport offers private aviation services including ground handling, aircraft maintenance and exclusive passenger lounges. It’s also a popular gateway to Monaco.

Popular aircraft: Embraer Phenom 300

The Embraer Phenom 300’s high-ceilinged cabin and roomy baggage hold are amongst the most spacious in their class. The aircraft has space for eight people and can fly for up to four hours, connecting Nice with most of Europe. According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, it was the most delivered twinjet of 2021, and in February 2022 the series became the world’s bestselling light jet for the 10th consecutive year.

Ibiza

Another Mediterranean hotspot for private jet passengers is Europe’s party capital, Ibiza. While millions of revellers flock to the island every year, away from busy Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni you’ll find more tranquil spots like the stunning bay of Cala Xarraca, an idyllic natural beauty spot with crystalline blue waters backed by craggy pine-cloaked cliffs.

Nobu Ibiza, Ibiza Gran Hotel, Six Senses Ibiza and W Ibiza are just a few of the five-star hotels catering to the island’s many high-net-worth holidaymakers. Discerning foodies should book a table at Amante, a Mediterranean restaurant perched on the rustic cliffs of Creek Sol Den Serra where diners can enjoy inspiring views.

Closest airport

Ibiza Airport sits on Ibiza’s southwest coast and also serves the nearby Balearic island of Formentera. The airport has a dedicated private jet terminal, allowing private jet passengers to avoid the busy main terminal.

Popular aircraft: Embraer Praetor 600

The Embraer Praetor 600’s combination of performance, comfort and technology makes it one of the most popular super-midsize jets on the market. Able to connect London with the rest of Europe, this modern aircraft is typically configured to seat eight or nine passengers, with state-of-the-art cabin technology and comfy seats that can be converted into flat beds. Its sizable baggage hold is large enough for around eight suitcases.

Naples

Nestled in a glorious setting beneath the twin-peaked Mount Vesuvius, the capital of Southern Italy is renowned for its delicious cuisine and historical churches. Tourist must-dos include a tour of the city’s museums and stunning architecture, along with a day trip to Pompeii, while frequent visitors come for the shopping and, of course, the food.

Naples is one of Italy’s culinary heavyweights, thanks to its rich volcanic soil and coastal location. Some of the country’s finest pizza is found along the bustling Spaccanapoli, while seafood lovers should try one of the old-fashioned trattorias.

Closest airport

Naples International Airport on the city’s outskirts handles millions of passengers every year. Terminal 2 is where you’ll find the newly renovated private jet provision, which has a spacious passenger lounge and a marketplace offering refreshments.

Popular aircraft: Embraer Legacy 600

One of the only aircraft in its class with three cabin zones where passengers can work, dine and sleep, this heavy jet is ideal for larger parties of up to 13 people. With a large baggage hold that can hold around 20 suitcases, the Legacy 600 is also a great option for those travelling with a lot of household belongings for a holiday home. Onboard facilities include a fully-equipped galley, a three-seat divan and a large lavatory.

Greek islands

Greek islands are among the most popular destinations in Europe for private jet flyers looking to unwind. In Mykonos, pretty alleys are lined with chic boutiques and private beach clubs serving lobster and champagne, while luxury hotels dotted around the island offer poolside lounging, after-dark cocktails and Greek fusion cuisine.

Santorini is famous for its striking natural landscape and distinctive blue-and-white architecture. Oia’s narrow streets spill down the hillside and are lined with white-washed buildings housing locals’ homes, galleries, tavernas and souvenir shops. To reach the sea, take the 300 steps down to the port of Ammoudi, where boats wait to take passengers back to the yachts anchored around the bay.

Corfu is full of picturesque coves, sweeping sandy beaches and lively resort towns. Corfu Town, or Kerkyra, is the island’s vibrant capital, where cobbled lanes are shadowed by weathered Venetian buildings. Down on street level are the requisite souvenir shops, tavernas and restaurants, with a church at nearly every turn. Stand-out hotels include MarBella Corfu Hotel, MarBella Nido Suite Hotel and Domes of Corfu.

Closest airport

Each of these islands has its own international airport. Mykonos Airport is less than two miles from the town of Mykonos, while Santorini International Airport sits just north of the coastal resort of Kamari, three miles from Fira and 10 miles from Oia. Finally, Corfu’s Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport is located two miles from Corfu Town.

Popular aircraft: Cessna CJ2

Able to fly six passengers for almost three hours, the CJ2 and its successor, the CJ2+, are ideal for short trips and island hopping. Low operating costs make this a popular charter jet, while the CJ2 is amongst the smallest aircraft to have a private lavatory onboard – a coveted feature amongst charter customers looking for cost-effective short-haul flights.
