Rushing aid to Myanmar after a cyclone

In May 2023, an aid agency asked us to help them transport 20 tonnes of relief supplies from Malaysia to Myanmar following a deadly tropical cyclone in the North Indian Ocean. Humanitarian aid was urgently needed to save lives in the wake of the disaster, so we sprung into action to find the best solution for the client’s limited budget.

Our Solution

Route: Subang > Kuala Lumpur > Yangon

Bangkok > Yangon

Our experienced team sourced a Boeing B737, which was the most cost-effective charter aircraft that could transport the huge payload.

The client’s preferred airport in Sittwe couldn’t accommodate an aircraft of this size or support unloading its heavy cargo, so we re-routed the charter to Yangon.

When delays held up the landing permit, we leveraged our relationship with the operator to push the flight back by a day at no extra cost.

We then liaised with diplomatic channels to expedite the permit and ensure the charter went ahead on the new date.

The Finer Details

Rapid Response: We took less than an hour to find an effective solution for this urgent charter request.
