Rushing time-critical ship parts to Malta
In January 2023, a freight forwarder asked us to help transport spare parts for a ship from the Netherlands to Malta after their scheduled service was cancelled. With no direct flights that could get the cargo there before the ship set sail from Malta, we needed to come up with a personalised solution to deliver the urgent consignment in time.
Our Solution
Route: Amsterdam > Frankfurt > Malta
Aircraft: Scheduled service
Thinking outside the box, we asked our trucking division to transport the two 27-kilogram boxes by road from Amsterdam to Frankfurt.
One of our onboard couriers then flew with the cargo on a direct scheduled service to Malta, checking-in the boxes and signing them over at the other end.
