A freight forwarder needed our help when supply chain problems left a brewery in urgent need of the crucial beer ingredient.

Delivering 100 tonnes of hops to a Mexican brewery

When supply chain issues left a Mexican brewery at risk of running out of hops, a freight forwarder asked us to help expedite 100 tonnes of the beer ingredient from Belgium. With just four days’ notice to deliver the 136 pallets of temperature-controlled cargo before operations ground to a halt, we immediately started working on a solution.

Our Solution

Route: Liège > Mexico City

Aircraft: Boeing 747-400BCF

The shipment had to be kept at a temperature of 0-7°C, so we needed a solution that involved the shortest possible transit time in order to avoid spoilage.

Our experts quickly sourced a Boeing Converted Freighter that could transport the heavy and outsized cargo, leveraging our industry relationships to secure last-minute flight permits.

On the day of the flight, the pallets were loaded onto the aircraft using a main deck loader and arrived in Mexico in good time.

The Finer Details

Rapid Response: We confirmed an air charter within four hours of receiving this urgent request and successfully delivered the cargo before production closed down.
