About the Monaco Yacht Show
The annual Monaco Yacht Show showcases some of the world’s largest and most expensive superyachts. Launched in 1991, it normally takes place over four days in late September.
Manufacturers and brokers showcase over 100 superyachts in Port Hercule every year. About 40 of these are new models being unveiled for the first time, making it the world’s premier event for private visitors wanting to view the latest superyachts to buy or charter.
How to get to the Monaco Yacht Show via private jet
There are no aviation facilities in Monaco, so private jets and other aircraft typically land at nearby Nice or Cannes. From there, you can either travel into the principality by car or ask our experts to arrange a helicopter charter to Monaco’s heliport.
Popular private jets to charter to Monaco
If you’re travelling to the Monaco Yacht Show from elsewhere in Europe, you can choose from numerous light and midsize private jets that are popular to charter in the continent.
Cessna Citation XLS/XLS+
Two of the world’s best-selling private jets, the Cessna Citation XLS and XLS+ generally seat eight passengers but can be configured for up to 12. Onboard, you’ll find stand-up headroom, a full-length aisle and 11 windows letting in plenty of natural light. There’s usually a refreshment centre at the front and a lavatory and closet space in the back, plus two foldaway tables in the middle of the cabin for enjoying meals or conducting business.
Cessna Citation CJ2
Able to fly six passengers for up to almost three hours with low operating costs, the CJ2 and its successor, the CJ2+, are ideal for short trips around Europe. The CJ2 is one of the smallest aircraft to have an enclosed lavatory onboard – a popular feature for charter customers seeking cost-effective short-haul flights.
Embraer Phenom 300
The award-winning Phenom 300 is a hugely popular private jet to buy and charter. With 17.2 ft of internal length and a high ceiling, it boasts one of the most spacious cabins and baggage holds of any light or super-light jet. The aircraft can fly for up to four hours, completing flights such as London to Nice with ease.
Hawker 800
There are several variations of the classic Hawker 800, including the 800XP, 800XPi (pictured) and 850XP. Typically able to fly up to eight passengers in luxury, few mid-range jets can match this line’s combination of comfort, cabin size and range, and this all-around performance makes the Hawker 800 one of the most sought-after private jets to charter.
If you’re flying to Monaco from outside Europe, you’ll likely need a heavy jet or larger to complete the journey non-stop. Popular long-range charter aircraft include the Bombardier Challenger 350, Embraer Legacy 600/650 and Bombardier Global Express XRS.
