ACS’s ACMI Division are really going places

As our ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) Division goes from strength to strength amid its ongoing expansion, we sat down with Dan Parker, Head of Global ACMI Leasing Operations to discuss 2024 so far, and look at what the future has in store for them.

The lofty heights of leasing

Over the past couple of years, our ACMI Division here at ACS has been strengthening their already-stellar teams across the globe as their division continues to grow at a rate of knots. The important strategic hire of the highly-experienced Dan Parker earlier in the year punctuates the division’s reputation as the market leader in short-medium term ACMI coverage for our airlines.

When asked what had most excited Dan about the year so far for ACMI, he had the following response — “2024 has seen a further expansion of our global ACMI offering — with a presence in eight countries spanning all major continents, our insights into local markets, and network of connections are second to none.”

Global offering

Key to the division’s success has been a continued expansion and a number of instrumental hires at global offices. With 83% of all ACMI activity happening within Europe, the summer season has certainly been a hectic one for the division, with Dan explaining that they have been supporting a number of European carriers around the clock. The division continues to lead the field, being the preferred aircraft provider to multiple national operators, as well as a variety of regional and wide-body airlines.

However, the division’s short-term offering isn’t simply confined to the European market; this year, they assisted one of ACS’s US partner airlines with an ACMI aircraft to ensure US golfers made their tee time for The Open at Royal Troon. The ACMI Division continues to institute themselves as leaders in any new market they venture into, and 2024 has been no different; reinforcing their position as specialists in cross-regional leasing, Dan gave his 2024 global highlights for long-term contracts, including supplying:

  • an African regional aircraft to a Caribbean operator;
  • a European narrow body carrier flying for a North African partner;
  • a wide-bodied European operator flying for an Oceanic national carrier; and
  • a national carrier in Southern Africa with a European aircraft.

Diversification

Alongside these commercial endeavours, the division continues to supply cargo ACMI contracts. Recent contracts have included supplying a partner airline with a Saab 340F for their summer coverage, and the provision of private jets to aid with crew positioning on behalf of a UK-based airline.

Ian, Dan, and ACS’s ACMI teams across the globe prioritise finding new ways to galvanise existing markets and diversify, innovating in the industry, further-strengthening their position as a market leader in the industry. Showing no signs of slowing any time soon, we look forward to seeing the division’s continued development and expansion.
