This year, due to the impact of COVID-19, 132,500 UK couples have had to postpone*, cancel or change their wedding plans completely. Following the ever-changing government guidelines, intimate weddings are currently the only option so couples are seeking more memorable wedding venues. With this in mind, Air Charter Service has launched new ‘Weddings in the Sky’ experiences where, after officially exchanging their vows in a place of worship or registry office, couples can hire a private jet and say ‘I do’ in a luxurious and unique setting with spectacular views below.

With the average cost of weddings exceeding the £30,000 mark in 2019**, couples can now re-direct these hard-earned savings towards Air Charter Service’s ‘Weddings in the Sky’ experiences:

The ‘Ultimate Wedding in the Sky’ experience costs from £22,000 and includes:

  • An exclusive two-hour flight on board a luxurious private jet, such as The Challenger 850 which seats up to 16 people
  • Chauffeur to take the couple to and from their airport of choice
  • Champagne, canapés and personalised wedding favours for the full wedding party
  • Cabin crew member to ‘unofficially’ take on the role of a registrar
  • Beautiful flower arrangements on board to fit in with the couple’s colour scheme
  • A playlist of the couple’s favourite songs to be played during the flight
  • Choice of flight route upon request – personalised to each couple

For those wanting an even more intimate experience, Air Charter Service offers the ‘Just the Two of us’ elopement experience which costs from £14,000 and includes:

  • An exclusive two-hour flight on board a luxurious private jet such as a Cessna Citation CJ2 for two people
  • Chauffeur to take the couple to and from their airport of choice
  • Beautiful flower arrangements on board chosen by the couple
  • Cabin crew member to ‘unofficially’ take on the role of a registrar
  • A playlist of the couple’s favourite songs to be played during the flight
  • Champagne in personalised champagne bottles and canapés for the couple
  • Choice of flight route upon request – personalised to each couple
  • Personalised passport holders from Aspinal branded with the newlyweds’ initials
  • Choice of flight route upon request – personalised to each couple

For an entirely bespoke experience, Air Charter Service can provide additional services at an extra cost including a wedding photographer, a wedding car of choice and a calligrapher to design the wedding invitations, menus and place settings.

Andy Christie, Group Private Jets Director at Air Charter Service said “Sadly, thousands of British couples have had to abandon their original wedding plans due to COVID-19 and the government’s ever-changing rules around the number of guests allowed means that we wanted to offer a solution to enable our clients to still have their dream wedding celebrations. Our ‘Weddings in the Sky’ experiences include all food and beverages and can be tailor-made to suit couples’ needs, whether they want to celebrate with close family and friends or elope, just the two of them. The flight route can be pre-arranged, so the aircraft can fly over areas of significance to those who are celebrating their marriage. While 2020 has been a year of uncertainty, we can ensure newlyweds end the year on a high with our fantastic new ‘Weddings in the Sky’ experiences.”
