What are the “Big Four” fashion weeks?
The “Big Four” fashion weeks are held in New York, London, Milan and Paris – usually in that order. They typically take place twice a year, previewing the coming autumn/winter collections in February and March and giving a sneak peek of the following year’s spring/summer collections in September and October.
In between these “Big Four” events, many other fashion weeks showcase menswear, bridal, swim and haute couture collections around the world.
About New York Fashion Week
When: 8-14 February & 7-12 September 2024
Main Location: Spring Studios, 50 Varick Street
Land At: Teterboro Airport, Westchester County Airport, Republic Airport
New York Fashion Week epitomises the city’s cutting-edge fashion and design scene whilst setting the tone for the upcoming season. The week-long extravaganza brings together designers, models, celebrities and fashion enthusiasts to celebrate the latest trends in clothing, accessories and haute couture.
Spring Studios usually acts as the event’s HQ, with secondary venues like the Lincoln Centre and Milk Studios also hosting runway shows and after-parties.
Where to stay
The Big Apple has a host of five-star hotels to choose from. Favourites of the fash pack include the St. Regis New York for opulent suites and butler service in the heart of Manhattan, or the Plaza Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton New York for stunning views of Central Park. About London Fashion Week
When: 16-20 February 2024 & 14-18 September 2024

While Paris and Milan are known for gathering the world’s fashion stalwarts, London Fashion Week is famous for promoting up-and-coming designers. The British capital brings together established and emerging talents who push the boundaries of creativity, and has played a pivotal role in advancing many fledgling careers over the years.
Most of the LFW action plays out at Somerset House, but there have been exceptions over the years in an effort to showcase other parts of the city, with Gucci holding a show at Westminster Abbey and Burberry holding a catwalk at Old Session House in Clerkenwell.

About Milan Fashion Week

Organised in conjunction with the non-profit organisation Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Milan Fashion Week attracts key industry players from around the world to Italy’s fashion capital. With no official headquarters, the event’s catwalk shows, designer showrooms and static presentations are held in beautiful spaces at venues all over the city, from the National Museum of Science and Technology to the Royal Palace.
Milan also hosts a smaller fashion week dedicated to menswear, taking place on 12-19 January and 15-19 June 2024.

Paris’ rich history and reputation for innovation are what set it apart from other fashion weeks, with storied French fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy using the event as a springboard to join the biggest names in global fashion.
Where to stay
The legendary Ritz Paris takes centre stage in the heart of the city, exuding timeless luxury with its lavish rooms and much-lauded Michelin-starred restaurant.
