Mining crew change, Democratic Republic of the Congo
A mining company based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo asked us to charter an aircraft for the last leg of a crew change from Zambia during the Covid-19 pandemic. With no direct commercial flights running due to the Covid-19 pandemic and permits notoriously hard to secure, we used our unrivalled expertise and wealth of experience in the region to arrange the flight.
OUR SOLUTION
Route: Lusaka > Lubumbashi
Aircraft: Embraer 120
The passengers were taking a scheduled flight from Frankfurt to Zambia, following which the client needed to charter an aircraft for the final leg of the journey to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Our expert team sourced an Embraer 120 with room for the 14 passengers, along with an additional 700kg cargo of Covid-related supplies, and arranged for the group to transit immediately so they didn’t have to enter Zambia and undertake a 14-day quarantine. It’s extremely difficult to secure permits to enter the Democratic Republic of Congo, but we worked with the client to get everything approved in time for the charter to go ahead.
