A Look Inside the Most Luxurious Private Jets in the World
Private jets are undoubtedly the best way to fly, but some private jets offer a more luxurious experience than others. We take a look at the most luxurious private jet models in the world and what they have to offer.
Want to travel in style? Nothing beats luxury private jets, where world-class interiors include almost everything from conference rooms to en-suite bedrooms and kitchens. Whether you own a plane or you’re used to flying by private jet charter, it’s always great to see what you could experience the next time you board a private plane.
Let’s take a look inside some of the most luxurious private jets in the world from manufacturers such as Bombardier, Gulfstream, Embraer and Cessna.
Gulfstream G650ER
Range: 7,500 NM
Max cruise speed: 652-690.5 mph
Cost (new): £52.15 million
The Gulfstream G650ER is one of the world’s longest-range business jets, capable of travelling farther and faster than most of its competitors. Seating up to 19 passengers, the G650ER can fly non-stop between key business hubs such as New York and Hong Kong, or London and Singapore. The jet has broken multiple speed records and uses the latest cockpit technology, including a fly-by-wire flight system (which replaces the manual flight controls with an electronic interface) and an enhanced vision system. For maximum comfort, the jet has the lowest cabin altitude in its class.
This luxury private jet interior has a flexible layout and can be customised with premium leather, stonework, handcrafted divans and quality wood fittings. Spaces include private staterooms and conference areas, bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, sophisticated lounges and fully-equipped galleys. There are 16 large oval windows to maximise natural light and provide stunning views. A cutting-edge Gulfstream cabin management system allows passengers to control the lighting, temperature, window shades and entertainment devices via a smartphone app.
Gulfstream G700
Range: 7,500 NM
Max cruise speed: 652 mph to 690.5 mph
Cost: £60.68 million
When looking at the performance specs for the G700, it may not appear all that different, considering that the range and speed of the two aircraft are identical.
However, the Gulfstream G700 takes everything the G650ER has to offer for its interior and pushes it up a notch. The G700 has an extra 1.02 metres in cabin length compared to its predecessor, giving its 19 passengers even more room to sit back and relax during their flight. According to Gulfstream, this is “the tallest, widest and longest cabin in the industry”. The only way to get a larger cabin would be to look to the next class of aircraft, which are VIP airliners. The G700 also takes advantage of this to increase the number of windows from 16 to 20, further enhancing the natural light in the plane and the great views you can enjoy in flight.
Additional design changes allow the G700 to offer a cabin altitude of 4,850 feet, which provides a more comfortable environment compared to many other private jets.
Embraer Praetor 600
Range: 4,018 NM
Max cruise speed: 536 mph
Cost (new): Approximately £16,43 million
The Embraer Praetor 600 was introduced in 2018 as an upgrade to the classic Embraer Legacy 500 and delivery of the first aircraft took place in mid 2019. This is a super-midsize jet that provides a maximum of nine passengers an incredible way to fly, including turbulence reducing technology that’s usually only found on larger aircraft, a six-foot-tall cabin, as well as exceptional amenities when compared to other similar aircraft.
Passengers can enjoy benefits such as a maximum luggage capacity of 155 cubic feet and 1300 pounds of weight, a fully equipped galley that has a microwave, conventional oven, fridge, coffee brewer, and high quality china and silverware, and seats that can fully recline to allow for maximum comfort.
The exceptional speeds and range this aircraft can achieve is due to the Honeywell HTF7000 series engines and the special aluminium and composite material which help reduce the weight of the aircraft. To better outline how all these design decisions come together, this private jet can transport travellers non-stop from London to New York, making it an ideal solution for intercontinental travel.
Gulfstream G280
Range: 3,600 NM
Max cruise speed: 652 mph
Cost (new): £19.5 million
The Gulfstream G280, formerly known as the G250, first took to the skies in December, 2009. This super-midsize jet has been designed to cater for a maximum of 10 passengers, depending on the cabin configuration. With a maximum range of 3,600 NM, it can fly from London to New York without having to refuel.
As an upgrade of the G200, it offers a number of improvements, including a longer body, which in turn means a larger cabin with more windows offering better natural lighting and more luggage space (154 cubic feet). The G280 also has a larger wingspan for improved range, more advanced avionics, as well as two Honeywell HTF7250Gs which offer improved speed and power over the previous Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306A engines and allow for the G280 to use a shorter runway. Additional changes were made to the cabin so that it offers a far quieter experience compared to its predecessor, as well as the aircraft having the lowest cabin altitude in its class, at 4,800 feet.
Digging deeper into the interior specs, this aircraft offers a cabin that is six foot and one inch tall and 23 inches wide, allowing it to far surpass many other aircraft in the same midsize category. This extra space allows Gulfstream to include a fully equipped galley, a large baggage compartment, and a reasonably sized lavatory with a full-size closet and two windows for all four configurations of the interior. Passengers can sit back and relax in executive-style seats with leather upholstery, make use of retractable wooden tables, or relax on a couch if the configuration includes it.
Cessna Citation Longitude
Range: 3,500 to 4,500 NM
Max cruise speed: 548 mph
Cost (new): £19.8 to 26.7 million
The Cessna Citation Longitude is a super-midsize jet that is perfect for private charter flights. It seats up to 12 people with a four-passenger range of 3,500 NM. The cabin is the quietest in its class and has 15 large windows to deliver stellar views and maximum natural light.
Amenities include a walk-in baggage compartment, plush chairs, a bathroom and a kitchen with an espresso maker. There are three configurations to choose from, all of which offer side-facing seats and comfy couches. Design schemes include Bisque, Jet Black, Toffee and French Roast.
Embraer Lineage 1000E
Range: 4,600 NM
Max cruise speed: 543 mph
Cost (new): £42.88 million
Based on the Embraer E190 regional airliner, the Lineage 1000E can carry 19 passengers and has a large baggage compartment. The cabin layout features five zones spread over 10,000 cubic feet which can be arranged in various configurations. Options include office spaces, en-suite bedrooms, living rooms and bars. Aircraft designer Jay Beever has created five designs for the Embraer Lineage 1000E.
The Kyoto Airship comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, while the nautical-themed Skyacht One mimics a superyacht with its mahogany, wood, and brass styling details. For a Wild West feel with horn trimming, saddle-stitched leather and bleached wood, choose the Skyranch One design. The Manhattan has a jewel-coloured interior inspired by 1930s art deco New York, while the Hollywood concept has a cloud club bar and 1930s Tinseltown feel.
Bombardier Global 7500
Range: 7,300 NM
Max cruise speed: 700 mph
Cost (brand new): £58.9 million
The Bombardier Global 7500 has a massively improved maximum flight range over its predecessors, making this the premium private aircraft in Bombardier’s flagship range of jets. The plane’s 7,300 NM range means this aircraft is capable of transporting its 19 passengers non-stop between Sydney and San Francisco, New York and Dubai, or even London and Singapore.
The interior options for the Global 7500 are state-of-the-art and incredibly luxurious, with bespoke options available from high-end interior design specialist companies, not least Design Q. Wood panelling, silk carpets, and brushed and polished metals are the standard for Design Q’s modern and refined design language. Though the style and layouts of these interiors aren’t quite as extravagant as some others, they still exude opulence and sheer luxury.
